Skeleton Man

I met a skeleton today. He wore a coat of slightly fleshy skin but I still knew him for what he was.

Come Closer- said his dried and rattling eyes.

I know you, don’t I? My feet stayed sensibly in place but my heart worked furiously to find the backdoor out my spine.

His shrunken eyes rolled high up to the ceiling and a chorus of wheezing air left his lips.

Come Closer- said his clawed fingers, pulling white linen to his throat.

Oh Yes, I know you now.

You Are Death
